Canadian comedian Russell Peters and others from his new movie, Breakaway, are showing up in Surrey on Saturday.
The stars of the movie will be on hand to meet fans at the Bell Performing Arts Centre from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 24. Admission is free.
There will also be music performances by groups like JoSH and Punjabi By Nature.
Breakaway tells the story of a Sikh-Canadian boy who wants to play hockey but can’t get a spot on his regional team. Unwilling to give up on his dream, he forms his own team (coached by Rob Lowe) and begins his journey to prove himself a hockey player worthy of Canadian standards.
