For its 49th season, the Handel Society of Music will perform Messiah, by George Frideric Handel, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Ridge.
The society was founded in 1966 by Karel ten Hoope and performs for audiences around the Lower Mainland.
The show will feature soloists soprano Nancy Washeim, mezzo soprano Ingrid Mapson, tenor Lucas van Lierop and baritone Willy Miles-Grenzberg along with the Handel Society Choir.
Orchestra and soloists will be conducted by maestro Johan Louwersheimer.
The concert takes place on Friday, 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 22561 – 121 Avenue in Maple Ridge or in Surrey on Dec. 20, 7:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2250 – 150 Street.
Tickets are $20 each or $15 for seniors and students.
