Camille Miller considers Vancouver Island as her musical home.
She’s coming back to the city to perform an all-ages show with special guests from The Odds at SimonHolt Sunday (July 28).
“I’m really excited to perform,” she said.
Miller has been in the studio in Nanaimo working on her new album More than This. She’ll work with musicians and producers from Vancouver Island she befriended while living in the city.
The creation of her latest endevour was made possible thanks to a Pledge Music campaign. The campaign also allowed her to raise money for a charity close to her heart, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Vancouver Island. Any money that she raised over her goal was donated to the charity.
Her last album, Parallel to The Sea, was released last fall. In that album Miller explored her experiences of motherhood. One of the songs, Tiniest of Hearts, is about her first pregnancy and the uncertainly she felt and excitement about caring for her daughter.
Miller was born in Germany but lived in Canada most of her childhood when her family was transferred to different military bases around the country.
Doors for her performance on July 28 open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance from the restaurant or $20 at the door.
