Mission Folk Music Festival opens with a community night

On Friday, July 20, admission to the event is Pay-What-You-Can

For the third year in a row, the Mission Folk Music Festival will open its weekend with a Community Night Celebration.

The festival is celebrating 31 years of music in beautiful Fraser River Heritage Park on July 20- 22.

The evening begins with an welcome from Jason Thompson of the Leq’a:mel First Nation. Opening the musical part of the evening is Fraser Valley’s The Kwerks and their high energy folk pop.

Early Spirit brings their traditional Celtic sounds to the stage. Rounding out the night are Vancouver Island’s Doug Cox and Sam Hurrie with the Friday Night Blues Band and The Matinee (and more) for an energetic kick off to the weekend.

Entrance to the Friday concert will be Pay-What-You-Can admission.

Weekend Passes are: Adult $70, Senior/Student $65, Youth $40, Children 12 and under free.
