Movie magic continues to shine in Agassiz-Harrison.
From May 27 to June 8, film crews and actors with Willow Resort Productions will be filming in Harrison Hot Springs, working on the upcoming Hallmark TV movie “The Willows.”
Filming takes place at a number of sites in Harrison before they will move on to Rowena’s Inn in Harrison Mills for further shooting, said set manager Ken Shapkin. Most of the remaining filming period will be spent inside the Harrison Hot Springs Resort with a few days of filming along Esplanade Avenue.
At this time, few plot or cast details are publicly available for “The Willows.” Fiona Gubelmann (Dr Morgan Reznick on “The Good Doctor”) confirmed through Instagram posts that she is attached to the project. Shapkin said the movie is part of a series of wedding-themed movies produced by Hallmark.

Director Jessica Harmon has returned to Harrison Hot Springs for the second year in a row; in addition to “The Willows,” she directed “My Best Friend’s Bouquet,” which filmed in the Agassiz-Harrison area last summer, which was then under the working title of “Neverbrides.” “My Best Friend’s Bouquet” filmed along Esplanade Avenue and Naismith Avenue, at Muddy Waters Cafe, and at the Fraser River Lodge in Agassiz. Harmon has dozens of acting credits to her name, including “The 100,” iZombie” and “Supernatural.”

Shapkin told The Observer the film crew appreciates the warm welcome from the public and the continued support for local film production.
“We love coming out here,” he added. “The public is so accepting of us and it’s just nice to feel that energy again after this COVID lockdown. We’re all happy to be here.”
