A total of 114 pieces of art created by Langley youth were auctioned off at the fifth annual Creative Life Art Show.
Held June 21 at the Fort Langley Community Hall by Langley Youth Unlimited, the event gave young artists the opportunity to showcase their talents to the community.
“Art actually is a way to create an equal platform for young people alongside the rest of society,” said Langley area director Danny Ferguson, in a press release.
“So an event like this actually allows them to contribute something positive to the world, and to share their voice, and to share their expression, and their point of view. Not someday maybe if they are good enough, but right now.”
Half of the proceeds from each piece of art sold went back to the youth artist, while the other half went to Langley Youth Unlimited’s Creative Life Program.
