Much ado about acting

Classes offered at Surrey Arts Centre for 12 to 16 year olds from January through March.

Do you know a teen who loves acting and is keen to take their skills to the next level?

Instructor Lisa Bunting will lead theatre games and exercises, cold reads, monologues, and scene study in Surrey Arts Centre’s new class Much Ado About Acting for ages 12 to 16.

Under Bunting’s guidance, students will work together on several group compositions, the best of which will be showcased in a final performance for family and friends.

Much Ado About Acting runs for eight weeks from Jan. 17 to March 6, 7-9 p.m. at a cost of $175.

Bunting is an acting instructor and audition coach who is passionate about teaching, the arts and youth. During her dozen years of teaching, she has instructed at Theatre Terrific, the Sears Provincial High School Drama Festival, and New Westminster high school drama and community programs. She is currently on the faculty at Carousel Theatre School and the Richmond Academy of Dance. This past summer she taught acting to talented teens at the prestigious Musical Theatre Intensive at the Surrey Arts Centre. Bunting attended the National Theatre School, and has over thirty years of experience as a professional stage, screen and voice actor.
