Take a journey with the Wizard of Odds on a Mathical Mystery Tour at the Surrey Arts Centre this week.
Math Out Loud, a multi-media show that attempts to bring math to life using music dance, comedy and storytelling, is intended to inspire teens to consider the importance of math in their lives.
Audiences will follow the adventures of Damon and Kelly, who encounter each other in a dream. Guided by the Wizard, they meet some of history’s greatest figures and math geniuses.
The production is written and directed by Vancouver actor and playwright Mackenzie Gray, and stars Meggie McKinnon as Kelly and Ira Cooper as Damon.
While school performances are during the week, public shows of Math Out Loud will be on the Surrey stage Oct. 27-28, with shows at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children, available online at tickets.surrey.ca or by calling 604-501-5566. The arts centre is located 13750 88 Ave.
