Hey! That was a party to remember! The overall feeling during the GoGo Grannies murder mystery dinner was one of fun. Guests came in costume, adding to the atmosphere of a 1950s train.
Conductor Jon Smith and Ric Little kept everyone working on clues about the murderer, moving from the dining car to the salon, or to the scene of the murder.
Dinner was catered by Ric and Lisa Fanning of the Iron Kettle, evoking rave reviews, which the Grannies provided a yummy apple crisp for dessert.
The event was made possible by the Columbia Brewery, Overwaitea Foods, Your Dollar Store with More, the College of the Rockies, the Cresotn Valley Chamber of Commerce, CIDO radio, Global TV, Ed McMackin (and his treasured recording of train sounds) and the Creston Valley Seniors Centre, which provided the hall and excellent kitchen where the Fannings came up with such a good meal. Also appreciated are the all the Grannies, who contributed time and enthusiasm, especially Barb Gracey, who organized it all.
And will there be a repeat performance? Well, that’s a mystery we’ll just have to work out.
