Get ready for some great live music.

MNET Radio Music Fest 17 is set for Sunday, Aug. 27 in Mission’s Centennial Park.

Music lovers are invited to come down from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy the show. The first performer is Dino DiNicolo, who recently opened for the Mic Fleetwood Band, who takes the stage at 11:30 a.m.

Other performers include Little Wild, Liminis, Amberola, Silent Transition and David Gogo.

Gogo will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. and it is recommended to get there early for a great spot to catch his performance. Gogo has 14 studio albums to his credit, as well as five Juno nominations and was awarded the Maple Blues Award for guitarist of the year in 2017.

“We are very excited about this year’s festival with all these great performers,” said Lance Schilka of MNET Media. “It’s really great to offer our community a free all-ages event like this.

“There will be several food concessions and a merch market as well, where MNET artist merchandise will be available for sale.”

With this year’s dry weather, Schilka reminds everyone that public parks are no-smoking zones and there will be extra attention paid to fire safety this year.

“We will be very conscious of the dry conditions and hope that everyone complies with the threat that the dry weather poses.”

Once again, the north side of 14th Avenue will be designated as a no-parking area.

There will be parking available in the Leisure Centre lot and the Seniors’ Community Centre as well as parking on the street around the park.
