Last weekend I ended up at the Blue Gator, it’s not normally my choice of venue and I was going to make my way over to see In Vertigo and the Pickups at Fernando’s Pub but I had so much fun I didn’t want to leave.
The Shawn Lightfoot Band was so entertaining, they did a cover of AC/DC and even though the tequila haze has the exact song escaping my mind, I know it rocked. If you are looking for something to do late night, I would definitely make your way over there the next time they have a show.

In Kelowna Charles Mansion will make their return to the stage after moving to Vancouver last month. They are always a good band to watch live, they draw a crowd every time. This time, the psychedelic rockers will rock the stage at Doc Wiloughby’s Public House with Kelowna’s Psycherelics.
One of the things that Charles Mansion shares with a similarly named notorious cult leader and mass murderer is his sense of family.
The band that has officially been making psychedelic rock music out of a lumber warehouse for a year-and-a-half, but their bond runs deeper than that.
J.D. Carraway, Mike Bickert, Joshua Theobald and Brendon Pommier had been floating around each other in the Kelowna music scene for years before they decided to start something together.

Vancouver based, The Boom Booms will perform at the Rotary Centre for the Arts the same night.
The Boom Booms, blend storytelling with music that makes fans want to get up and dance.
They’ve been making music together for 10 years, but have known each other much longer. Front-man Aaron Ross attended pre-school with bassist, Geordie Hart and his Ross’ brother plays the keyboards.

Saturday night The Trews will take the stage at OK Corral with Edmonton band, Altameda.
The Trews have been a leading name in Canada’s rock scene for 15 years, breaking onto the scene with the hit Not Ready To Go. Now the heavy hitters are touring their sixth studio album, Civilianaires.
Their star power keeps rising with their signature guitar-heavy songs accompanied by catchy hooks that lure music lovers into being fans for life. The band, having already achieved fame, are now playing the long game, making their success last for years to come.

Roots-rockers Altameda have matured their sound since releasing their EP with harmonica threaded rock songs.
Now the Edmonton based band is exploring bluesy tracks filled with emotion as they prepare to release the follow up debut album, Dirty Rain.

Sunday the main event of Fireside Festival celebrates it’s seventh year running at BNA.
The two-day festival supports local bands, putting them on stage in front of an audience made up of 450 music lovers and musicians.
Founder Aaron Desilva, who started the festival in his living room in 2013, plans this year to feature B.C.-based bands, magicians, belly dancers, a tarot card reader and other artists.

Cory Myraas, also known as Windmills, will make his return to the stage after a year break at Fireside.
After ripping himself apart to reveal and examine all that he is through his last record, Death Of A Ladies Man, Myraas needed to take a step back after 10 years of hard work.

Speak Easy is planning a triumphant return to Kelowna, this time, hungry for redemption.
While touring last year, the band had to cancel their shows in Kamloops, Vancouver and Kelowna after front man, Oliver Sandberg burned his fingertips while maneuvering around a campfire.

Osoyoos musician, Kansas-Lee will perform her heartfelt piano based album.
Kansas-Lee Hatherly has always been able to pick up any instrument and figure it out.
The Osoyoos-based musician is putting the finishing touches on her new piano-based album that was recorded with a USB microphone that hangs from a chain above her piano, and with the viola and violin “sprinkled in.”

Aaron Pritchett will perform will be performing at the OK Corral.
B.C. country legend, Aaron Pritchett is gearing up to release his 8th studio album, Out On The Town the day he kicks off his tour in January.

On Wednesday, Swedish musician, Sarah MacDougall will perform in Kelowna at the Rotary Centre for the Arts and again in Penticton at the Dream Cafe on Thursday.
Sarah MacDougall set out to create a record that emulated the feeling of being surrounded by nature, and that is exactly what she accomplished.
The high-risk, high-reward album was teased to fans with the cinematic single Empire in Spring and her fourth album, All the Hours I Have Left to Tell You Anything was released in Fall.
