Violinist Nikita Pogrebnoy (above, standing in front of the chair) plays in ‘total darkness’ for a 20-minute song with the Borealis String Quartet on Nov. 20 at the Surrey Arts Centre’s Studio Theatre.
The photo above is a six-minute exposure that picked up light only from the sound booth and three exit signs.
The quartet’s performance, Out of the Dark Into Light, began in the darkness with George Hass’ String Quartet in No. 3 ‘In iij. Noct.’, followed by a regular lit concert that featured works by Shostakovich, Haydn and Samandari.
