Naden Band hosts military show

annual concert showcases the talent of military musicians and connects audiences with their heritage and pageantry.

The Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific will join military bands from the U.S. for the International Military Band Concert on June 21, at 8 p.m. at the Royal Theatre.

Hosted by the commander of Maritime Forces Pacific, this is the first time in the event’s history that the concert is being held in Canada. The annual concert showcases the talent of military musicians and connects audiences with their heritage and pageantry.

Participating bands include the Band of the 15th Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery of Vancouver; United States Navy Band Northwest, Silverdale, Wash.; and the 56th U.S. Army Band, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.

The program will feature a variety of music including traditional marches as well as music from stage and screen.

Tickets are $18.50 and are available at the McPherson and Royal Theatre box office or online at www.rmts.bc.ca.  All proceeds will support the Royal and McPherson Theatres Society.
