Nanaimo Conservatory of Music hosts Summer Jazz Intensive workshop

NANAIMO - Nanaimo Conservatory's jazz intensive is being directed by multi-Juno Award winning Christine Jensen.

The Nanaimo Conservatory of Music hosts a Summer Jazz Intensive workshop from July 19-22.

Multi-Juno Award-winning Christine Jensen directs the intensive.

The four-day jazz workshop is for students from age 14 to adults and will help participants develop their music and performance skills.

The workshop is $400 if people register before June 15 and is $450 for people who register after that date.

The workshop runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. People can register at the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music office, located at 375 Selby St., call 250-754-4611 or e-mail nanaimoconservatoryofmusic@gmail.com.

The conservatory’s Jazz Superstar concert, which features performances by faculty members and special guests, is July 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Simon Holt restaurant.  Workshop participants will each receive one ticket to the event.

Tickets are $30 or $20 for students. A pre-show dinner is available at the restaurant by reservation. For reservations please call 250-933-2732.
