Nicolaj Bucher, 16, has been named the Intermediate Brass winner at the 2021 BC Provincial Festival.
It is the second provincial win for the Nelson teen, who won Junior Brass in 2018.
Bucher credits his growing skill on the trumpet to the lessons from his teachers, past and present, Michael Perkins, Justin Ratzburg, Tim Bullen and Tobias Jenny, as well as playing in the LVR Jazz Band, the National Youth Band of Canada and Denis Wick Canadian Wind Orchestra.
