New dance troupe dazzles audience

Novali's Nightcap brings sequins and dance to Grand Forks masonic lodge

Sequins and sparkles made for a scintillating show on May 11, when Grand Forks’s new dance troupe, Novali, hosted the first annual Novali’s Nightcap.

The sold-out fundraiser for the group’s costume costs and space rental blew the roof off the Masonic Lodge.

Spectacular performances entertained the packed and glittering venue. From sexy to hilarious dances and acts, the show had the exuberant audience laughing, hooting, clapping and dancing along. The event also featured the debut performance of the Three Quarter Monties, a “boy-lesque” group from Grand Forks.

After the official show, guests flashed their moves on the dance floor until well past midnight.

Novali started several years ago when a group of women from Grand Forks, who had been dancing together for years, decided to create a formal dance troupe.

The group’s next event will be in November when the group hosts Grand Forks’s annual dance showcase, the Dance Extravaganza. In the meantime, Novali is welcoming new members, male and female. If you are interested in performing, call Tess Noren at 250-442-1440, or reach out on Facebook at @novalidancetroupe.
