It’s the last day of the year and that means local pubs, resorts and organizing teams have been busy planning for a giant soirée of music and merriment.
If you haven’t made plans already, consider these local events (and make your way there to get your advance tickets):
Deez Bar and Grill, Qualicum Beach.
Come for live music featuring Sherry Lynn and Sista Groove. An early bird dinner takes place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and the regular menu will be available all day.
Advance tickets are $15 to the evening event and includes a snack buffet. Enjoy a champagne toast at midnight, and rock to the music until 1 a.m. and there will be a designated driver on-site to make sure people get home safely. At 10 a.m. on Jan. 1 people can make their way back for a breakfast buffet.
The Quality Resort Bayside, Parksville.
Called An Affair to Remember, this celebration begins at 6 p.m. and includes a casino until 9 p.m., dancing, endless appies, a midnight buffet, party favours, a photographer, prizes and more. Tickets are $100 and room packages are available. Tickets are available VIP Auto Detail, Sunrise Ridge and The Quality Resort Bayside.
The Shady Rest Pub, Qualicum Beach.
Remedy Band will play rock n’ roll and there will be door prizes, party favours, a champagne toast at midnight and late night hors d’oeuvres. Advance tickets are $30, the doors open at 7 p.m. the band starts at 9.
The Rod and Gun Pub, Parksville.
DJ Anger and Friends will be bringing hip hop and RnB classics to Parksville’s night club as well as a host of other musical styles. This well known Victoria DJ gives lessons and workshops in his craft in that city.
Cover charge is $15, there will be champagne at midnight and late night appetizers. The party goes to 4 a.m. A three-course dinner is available in the restaurant for $40 and includes V.I.P access to the pub.
The Beach Club Resort, Parksville.
Monkey Wrench will entertain, there will be a gourmet buffet dinner and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $99 per person.
Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort, Parksville.
A Black and White Masquerade Ball will take place including an extravagant buffet and dance featuring Johnny Inappropriate and DJ Wade C. The masks are complementary for ticket holders and have been brought in from around the world. Single tickets are sold-out but some are still available when purchasing room packages. Nanoose Place Dance Party, Nanoose Bay.
Hosted by the Nanaimo Ballroom Dance Society, DJ Andy Mundy will play popular Latin and Standard favourites from the 1950s to present. Tickets are $20 for both members and non-members and includes a champagne toast at midnight or a non alcoholic punch.
