After a fluke infection left doctors with no choice but to amputate her leg, the question for Armstrong athlete Chelaine McInroy wasn’t how long it would take for her to walk, but how long before she could ride.
McInroy’s story is inspiring – she hasn’t allowed losing her leg to slow her down.
To make her lifestyle more comfortable, Chelaine hopes to purchase a specialized sports prosthesis – the cost is upwards of $13,000.
Status Nightclub in Vernon is trying to help with the Walk a Mile fundraiser Saturday, Dec. 17.
The hip hop fundraiser for McInroy is from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the club.
Tickets are available at http://www.statusvernon.com/events/walk-a-mile-fundraiser-for-chelaine/
The $20 entry ticket includes two beverages, with special performances by Wake The Dead, Mexi Fry, Saranaedya & Shalina.
