Stage West School of Performing Arts has once again teamed up with Urban Dance Connection’s classical division in Campbell River to bring The Nutcracker to Port Alberni this holiday season.

For the second year in a row, dancers ages five and up have been working with studio director and owner Jen Soo and guest director and choreographer Geraldine Potter to bring this performance to both Port Alberni and Campbell River.

Studio dancers will be joined on stage by a sugar plum fairy from Ballet Victoria, Vladimir Pereira, formerly of the Goh Ballet and co-director of Eclat Dance as well as Dustin Carnie, formerly of the Goh Ballet and instructor at UDC.

The addition of the guests is predicted to add to the magic on stage and to the experience of the students.

The show will also feature additions of new surprises and characters to the second annual Nutcracker production.  Special guests, The Capitol Glee Singers will also be making an appearance on stage and adding to the holiday spirit of the performance.

A 2 p.m. matinee and a 7 p.m. evening show will be available.  Tickets are $15 for students and seniors and  $20 for adults. Tickets are available at Stage West, Funk Trunk and Finishing Touches.  The performance in Campbell River takes place on Dec. 10 and tickets are available at the Tidemark Theatre Box Office.
