Singer-songwriter Andrew Allen is bringing his new band home for a concert on Friday.
The Vernon-raised pop star—who has made a name for himself collaborating with the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen and Cody Simpson—is performing with Via Barcelonia at the BX Press Cidery and Orchard on July 26.
Demand for the show has proven high as the concert is already sold out.

“The new band started sort of officially, unofficially in February,” said Allen, who isn’t abandoning his solo career, just “excited” to be part of this worldly, pop-indie music.
“We did a music video at The Green the night that the show got cancelled.”

Allen and bandmates Taylor McKnight (originally from Vernon) and Liv Roberts (originally from PEI but now lives in Vernon) set out to create pop-influenced “world music.”
“It’s so freakin’ fun,” said Allen.
Via Barcelona has seven or eight shows this summer, including Parks Alive in Kelowna Aug. 7. There are also plans for tours in Australia and more.
Allen will be busy this summer with McKnight, who is also his drummer for Andrew Allen, with 35 shows.
Friday’s show is part of the BX Press Cidery’s Summer Concert Series, which will feature jazz trio The Om Sound on Aug. 2.
New singles by Allen (Face the Night) and Via Barcelonia (Runaway) are available now.
