You won’t even notice the mistletoe when Jingle Bass 4 hits the dance floor at Monashee’s Bar and Grill in Vernon Saturday.
13th Floor’s fourth annual Christmas party, featuring three of the Okanagan’s well known and respected DJ/producers, promises to be bigger and better than ever, says Josh Brazier, with 13th Floor, producing the event.
“(Jingle Bass has) a stacked lineup of Okanagan talent that have all enjoyed success outside of the region. We strongly recommend purchasing pre-sale tickets for this event as it will definitely sell out,” said Brazier.
Behind the decks will be Kelowna’s Stickybuds, Bob Smoke, and Vernon-raised producer, JPod the beat chef.
Nominated for Best New DJ at the International BreaksPoll 2012 awards, Stickybuds has been making his mark on music all over the globe. In the last few years, he’s found himself performing in 14 different countries, captivating fans wherever he goes. His work ethic and passion have also earned him a residency at Salmo’s Shambhala Music Festival, as well as performances at Glastonbury (U.K.), Splore Festival (N.Z.), Burning Man (U.S.) and the legendary Space Club in Ibiza, Spain.
With 20 releases on multiple labels, Stickybuds loves to create and play dance floor friendly music of many different tempos. His sets are filled with funk, drum ‘n bass, glitch hop, reggae and breaks, all intricately woven through countless hours in the studio.
JPod the beat chef’s signature sound combines dropkick drums, bobblehead bass and intelligent instrumentation that uniquely represents the flowering west coast flavour.
With highly original productions, remixes and an innovative DJ style, his live performances never fail to impress listeners and dancers alike, invariably creating an army of smiling faces.
In addition, JPod runs a cutting-edge digital label called Swing Set Sounds, which is aimed not only at providing great music, but also various tools for new wave producers and remix DJs.
Having toured extensively in Western Canada and Australia at both clubs and festivals, JPod continues to energetically spread his sound to all open ears.
After being a part of the Okanagan’s hip-hop scene for more than a decade as Dynamic, Bob Smoke has lately been shaking dance floors with his bass-heavy G-House sound, sometimes pushing into jackin’, garage, hip hop and other genres.
True to his roots, Bob Smoke is known to keep it live with some beatbox or freestyle on the mic.
Pre-sale tickets for Saturday’s show at Monashee’s are $15, available at the Downtown Internet Lounge on 30th Avenue. Limited tickets will be available at the door on the night of the event.
