Three’s definitely not a crowd with this trio.
The first Chemainus Classical Concerts performance of 2020 promises to be a memorable event with Trio d’Argento, an ensemble that combines the talents of Paul Pulford (flute), Sibylle Marquardt (flute) and Todd Yaniw (piano).
Trio d’Argento has firmly established itself in classical circles in Ontario, generating glowing reviews from critics about each performer’s artistry, programming and accessible stage presence.
They’ll be performing Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at the historic St. Michael’s Church in Chemainus. Tickets are $18 in advance, available in Chemainus at Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn and Owl’s Nest Bakery Bistro, or $20 at the door and $10 for students under 18.
Tickets can also be purchased in Duncan at Ten Old Books and in Ladysmith at Salamander Books.
The trio is known for its superb level of excellence combined with a fun and conversational stage approach. The multi-faceted program features Beethoven’s Trio op. 11, Alice Ho’s Cothurnus, jazz pieces by Bolling and Gershwin, and carefully selected works to showcase each individual artist.
