Diana Pearson, and alt pop singer/ songwriter who hails from Port Alberni, is coming home for the holidays. And she’s going to close out the season at Char’s Landing with a special concert on Dec. 28 at 8 p.m.
Born and raised in Port Alberni, Pearson, 22, is an aspiring solo pianist and vocalist now residing in Calgary, Alta. Inspired by contemporary artists such as Vanessa Carlton and Regina Spektor, Pearson’s songwriting style consists of catchy melodies, emotionally-driven lyrics and a distinct piano style. Her delicate yet sassy voice has been compared to Chantal Kreviazuk and Sarah McLachlan.
A dedicated and passionate musician, Pearson has been studying music from a young age. She studied piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music for many years, most recently earning First Class Honours with Distinction at the Grade 9 level under the instruction of Patricia Miller.
Pearson also holds a Jazz Studies Diploma in Music from Vancouver Island University and was mentored by instructors such as Bill Costin and Bryan Stovell.
Advance tickets are $12 at Rollin Art Centre (cash only). Tickets will be $3 more at the door.
