The Peninsula Singers are preparing for their annual Christmas concert series and are on the hunt for a “few good women–specifically altos, and tenors.
The group begins rehearsals on Sept. 11 and Virginia Watson-Rouslin, the publicist for the group said that, although tenors are generally considered to be men, it’s a range available to women as well.
“The women sing at the low register and the men at the higher level, but we all get along. One of the best things about joining our happy chorus is we have a great time,” said Watson-Rouslin.
The Christmas repertoire will include the traditional music of the season, as well as a bit of jazz, gospel, big band and even a bit of country. Young artists, dancers and a fabulous “pit orchestra” round out the ensemble.
