People needed to put on Lumby play

The Monashee Arts Council is recruiting members of the public to take part in the original historical comedy, Moose Under Coyote Sleeping, written by Lumby playwright Phil Wagner.

“There are all sorts of opportunities for people to take part in this production, not just the acting roles,” said Jennifer Greenwood, MAC arts and culture program coordinator. “We need people to help with a huge range of tasks:  costumes, construction, stage manager, technical director, publicity, sound, lighting, makeup… There is definitely an opportunity for everyone to take part.”

The council is hosting an information and application event at Charles Bloom Secondary School  Community Theatre Tuesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. for anyone interested in participating in the production.  The evening is being billed as Bright Lights, Small Town.

Present at the event will be the playwright, director, producer, and set designer.

“This is a really fantastic opportunity for our community to not only enjoy the play production, but to have a hand in bringing it to fruition,” said Greenwood. “We want as many people as possible to take part.”

For more information, contact Greenwood at the Monashee Arts Council office at 778-473-3029, in person at 1961 Vernon St., Lumby or visit monasheeartscouncil.com.
