Yodelling cowboy Petunia and his band The Vipers bring their hillbilly, boogie, western swing, ‘30s and ‘40s jazz and original instrumentals to Record City’s new venue (in the former KT’s Restaurant) Wednesday, July 6 at 8 p.m.
Petunia and the Vipers are on tour to promote their latest album, Dead Bird on the Highway, which was recorded and completed over a two-year period.
Bed tracks were recorded by Grammy winning engineer Ryan Freeland at The Sound Factory in Hollywood, Calif., while overdubbing and additional recording was done at Heavyosonic in Vancouver.
Vernon’s newest live music venue Record City plans to provide a range of music as well as related arts and education pursuits (jam nights, guest speakers, workshops, art gallery space) and make them available to all ages and abilities.
