At least 600 people were under the sunny skies of Ed Macgregor Park on Sunday to enjoy the annual Philharmonic Fling as well as help celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra, which was sponsored by the District of Sooke, Sooke Community Arts Council, and Little Vienna Bakery. The bakery provide a beautiful cake to Maestro Norman Nelson after the successful event, which also saw performances from mezzo soprano Marion Newman, guest conductor Mayor Wendal Milne, and even a surprise visit from her majesty ‘Queen Elizabeth II.’
