It started with an easy click of a button, says Jennifer Braun, who is about to hold her first photography exhibition at the Bean to Cup coffee house downstairs gallery.
The Vernon secondary school student’s exhibition, First Impressions, shows Braun’s unique perspective on common vistas and her stunning black and white photography is sure to delight and intrigue, said exhibition curator Donna Mair.
Braun’s interest in photography started when at the age of 13 her brother loaned her his digital camera for a trip to Kingfisher to watch the salmon run on the Shuswap River.
“Since then, both my knowledge and passion for photography has grown,” said Braun, who is now a member of the Vernon Camera Club. “I strive to make the most out of my photographic opportunities and I hope you enjoy my work.”
Braun’s exhibition is in support of the Kindale Developmental Association, a local non-profit society that provides a wide range of services to people with developmental and other disabilities throughout the North Okanagan.
At the opening night reception, Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., 50 cents from every chai latté sold will go to Kindale.
“Come meet the artist and enjoy a sweet treat and music while you view the art,” said Bean to Cup manager Kunal Chander.
