Oceanside Classical Concerts is pleased to welcome André Laplante, regarded as one of the most renowned pianists in Canada and around the world, to the stage for the second concert of its 2016-17 season on Monday.
The Nov. 21 concert is at 7 p.m. at Knox United Church in Parksville.
Over the last decade, Laplante has garnered international attention after winning prizes at the Geneva and Sydney international piano competitions, then winning the silver medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
Laplante has appeared as an orchestral soloist with the Montreal and Chicago symphony orchestras and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
Laplante’s program for the Oceanside Classical Concerts will feature works by Franz Schubert. Franz Liszt, Jacques Hétu and Frederic Chopin.
