The Comox Valley Potters’ Club is gearing up for its annual clearance sale Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Jan. 28 from 9 to 5 at the Driftwood Mall in Courtenay.
If you missed the club’s Holiday Pottery Sale in December or wished you had bought some more, then this is your second chance to get your crock full.
This is a sale of wonderful pots that have been sitting around pottery studios for a bit too long — or there are only one or two of a certain style or design and the potter who made them just isn’t making that style or pattern anymore and needs to make room for their current designs.
Don’t miss the annual Red Dot Sale at the Potters’ Place at the corner of Cliffe Avenue and Fifth Street (at the Potters Corner) until Feb. 15. A wide selection of pots will be marked down up to 50 per cent off their regular price during this special event.
At our 2011 holiday Christmas show, partial proceeds from our show went to the Comox Valley Food Bank. This 2012 clearance sale, we will help to support the Comox Valley Arts Council, which is truly in need of all of our help right now.
Partial proceeds from this sale will go directly to the arts council. Hopefully, this will help them to do the amazing job that they do, which includes providing arts workshops and classes to the public, and gallery space for young and emerging local artists to show work in.
