Artists interested in taking part in Party on the Drive should register now for event.
Last year marked the inaugural event where Parksville’s Resort Drive Community lined the drive with artists, music, food and entertainment and they are expanding it this year.
Artists last year numbered 20 and this year that will nearly double, and include artists from around the Island.
There will be more activity-based businesses like a mobile gymnastics group and organizers are seeking interactive fun for kids like pony rides and face painting.
Organizers are also looking to arrange transportation for those with difficulty navigating the drive. Numerous stages will be set up with live music and the popular street dance will allow for continuous dancing.
Last year about 2,000 people attended the party and this year organizers hope to double that.
Party on the Drive happens Sunday, September 8 from 1 -5 p.m. on Resort Drive in Parksville.
The seven resorts that make up Parksville’s Resort Drive are Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa & Conference Centre, Ocean Trails Resort, Beach Acres Resort, Madrona Resort, Oceanside Village Resort, Sunrise Ridge Resort and Ocean Sands Resort. The Parksville Qualicum Beach News will be sponsoring the event.
