If you are looking for music and a great meal over the Easter weekend you should check out The Old Dutch Inn.
Pianist Ron Hadley and musical guests will be providing the entertainment at the Qualicum Beach restaurant over the next month. On April 6 and 7 Victoria jazz vocalist Gergana Velinova will join Hadley on stage.
Hadley performs solo piano every Sunday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. People who attended that day’s Music On Sunday concert at TOSH will get a 20 per cent discount on dinner when they show their Music On Sunday ticket or ticket stub.
On April 13 and 14, Hadley will be accompanied by exquisite Victoria vocalist Miranda Sage.
Dynamic Victoria singer Maria Manna will join Hadley on April 20 and 21. Manna, who sings in native Italian and English, will perform jazz and pop standards and well-known Italian favorites.
Victoria vocalist Sara Marreiros is in the house April 27 and 28 singing in English and Portuguese; everything from fado to bossa nova/samba to jazz to country and western.
A remarkable woman who sings fado, Marrieros has been discovering her own voice by merging the music of her roots and the music she came of age with.
Fado is to Portugal what flamenco is to Spain and what the blues are to the American South: songs clearly from the folk and their experiences of life’s crueler moments.
