Local author Ann Berens has created a collection of poems that reflect her search for answers about being — in all aspects of life. Ann will be at the Courtenay Library Branch this Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. to launch her new poetry collection, A Spiral of Being.
With its deep insights and thought-provoking ideas, it is the perfect inspiration for those searching for answers to these lifelong questions. Ann believes that “being who we truly are is the key to authenticity.”
Janice Thomas, a clinical psychologist, says, “Ann Berens’ inspiring book of poetry takes us along an intimate journey to find her truest self and shares loving, interpersonal discoveries along the way.” Robert Stone, MD, says, “In these lines Ann invites us to see beyond the surface of things seen, to relationships, the eternal, universal, human, and inward to the depths of our being.”
Berens was born and educated in England, and has lived in California. She now lives in Courtenay.
Ann has worked as an Elementary school teacher, a volunteer in various children’s advocacy organizations, and with emotionally disturbed adults — all of which became the background of her poetry.
This is a free event, open to all. The Courtenay library is at 300 Sixth St.
