Current Art Exhibit
“Present Images” is the title of the current Rollin Art Centre’s art exhibit. This spectacular display is by a group of 14 artists from the Alberni Valley Wednesday Painters.
The AV Wednesday Painters meet every Wed. at Char’s landing to hone their skills, learn new ones and gather with friends. The Alberni Valley Wednesday Painters exhibit will run until Dec. 20. Stop by today for a chance to own one of these terrific pieces of art.
Extended hours for Rollin
The Rollin Art Centre will be open until 8 p.m. every Friday during the month of December to give you the opportunity to stroll the magical gardens, and experience the festive lights.
Stop in the Rollin Art Centre’s gift shop and explore the hundreds of great gift ideas, of one-of-a-kind pieces, for all your holiday shopping. From cards to jewellery, prints and sculptures, the Rollin Art Centre has it all at great prices; you’ll also be helping to support local artists.
McLean Mill 2014 Christmas Market next two weekends
The McLean Mill Christmas Market and Light-Up takes place this weekend. This ever-loved event begins this Saturday Dec. 6th from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., train runs at 5 p.m. and Sun. Dec. 7th is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fri. Dec. 12th from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. train runs at 5:30 p.m., Sat. Dec. 13th from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. train runs 12:30 & 5:30 p.m., and Sun. Dec. 14th from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., train runs at 12:30 p.m. Visit the McLean’s Mill and explore the many crafters and artisans while enjoying all the festivities. Concession will be open, enjoy a hay-ride and take in all the holiday lights.Presented by: the Community Arts Council, AV Museum, Industrial Heritage Society and McLean Mill. Tickets are on sale for the train at the Museum.
Making Spirits Bright
The Barkley Sounds Choir and Phil’s Harmonics String Orchestra presents their annual Christmas Concert, Making Sprits Bright, Sunday Dec. 7 at 2:30 p.m. at ADSS Theatre. Tickets are $10 and are available at Rollin Art centre (CASH ONLY)
Danielle Marcinek to accompany TIMBRE! Choir
Timbre! Choir, conducted by Patricia Miller and accompanied by Danielle Marcinek, presents “Simply Christmas” on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 2:30 pm at ADSS Theatre. 2014 Banners still available
Banners are still available to purchase at the Rollin Art centre. If you are one of the lucky ones to have painted a banner for 2014, they are available now for $25. Located at the corner of 8th and Argyle, the gallery is open Tue. to Sat. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
