The City of Penticton invites residents to celebrate the launch of the 2017 Penticton Public Sculpture Exhibition on Saturday.
Six artists were chosen to display their works for the project initiated by the City of Penticton Arts, Creative and Cultural Innovations (ACCI) Committee. A short ceremony will take place in front of Penticton City Hall at 10 a.m. on May 6 and will be followed by a chance to meet the artists. A map will also be handed out to guide people to the six sculptures.
The artist and/or a ACCI Committee representative will be available at each of the six sculptures until noon. The City of Penticton is asking for the public to identify their favourite sculpture and enter their name in a draw for a gift basket of Penticton goodies.
The sculptures will be on display for one year and are a wide range of media from wood to metal to marble.
