The Abbotsford Quilters’ Guild presents the Quilts in the Valley show at Tradex in Abbotsford on June 10 and 11.

More than 400 quilts will be displayed, about 30 merchants will be in attendance, and the Quilts of Valour display will feature quilts that are distributed to Canadian soldiers injured while on active duty.

Also showcased are demonstrations, the “guild boutique,” and featured quilters Wendy Lewington with her “Quilts with a Voice,” Debbie Schmidt with a display of creative scrappy quilts, and Jane Cannon with her unique interactive “math quilts.”

Tickets, at $2 each, will also be sold for a raffle with the first prize being a handmade queen-sized quilt.

The Abbotsford Quilters’ Guild has 160 members from throughout the Fraser Valley. The group donates more than 400 quilts each year to community organizations, including the neonatal unit at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Peardonville House treatment centre for women, Victim Services, transition houses, and the New Beginnings program for young parents.

Quilts in the Valley is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 10 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. Admission is $5, and free for men.
