Campbell River’s newest band Raincoast Rollers are playing the newly reopened Quinsam Hotel tonight and Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
They will be a as well hosting the popular jam session from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Come on down to the Quinnie and dance to this band’s unique blend of rock’n’roll, country, blues, soul and rockabilly music with some original songs thrown into the mix.
The five band members have many years of experience playing on Vancouver Island, Vancouver and other parts of Canada. Most recently, singer/rhythm guitarist Rich Hagensen and singer/lead guitarist Harry D. played with Campbell River band Skunk Hollow. Rich has several CDs released on Fireball Records and his past bands include Small Craft Warning who rocked this town in the 60s and 70s and ‘The Surfdusters’ who opened for Dick Dale and The Ventures with some of their original instrumentals featured in Spongebob Squarepants. From the 1960s onward, Harry D was in several bands in B.C., Ontario and Quebec including garage rock legends The Haunted. Aside from years playing in the Comox Valley and Campbell River area, keyboardist Phil Nowe and drummer Carl West both were in the rockin’ blues band Howlin’ Dogs. Bassist Rick Bissonette was in several Vancouver and Victoria bands.
