The Reach Gallery Museum holds a program called Walking Strong Together: Community Art Project on Wednesday, March 1 as part of its Culture, Coffee & Cookies (C3) series.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at The Reach (32388 Veterans Way) and is led by local artist Linda Klippenstein.
She has already distributed art canvases to diverse groups in Abbotsford for them to create artwork to later be displayed at various local venues.
At the event on March 1, participants can help create an art piece. No artistic experience is necessary, as the design has already been drawn on to the canvas, and participants will simply apply paper to different sections of the design.
Other C3 sessions in March, all starting at 10:30 a.m., are:
– the Power Pioneers on March 8, with guest Dave Watts discussing the history of BC Hydro and its predecessor companies:
– an off-site tour that meets at the Sikh Heritage Museum at 33089 South Fraser Way on March 15 to view the latest exhibit, (Dis) Enfranchisement 1907-1947: The Forty-Year Struggle for the Vote;
– Travel and Photography: A Month in Provence, featuring the work of Rod Lafond, at The Reach on March 22; and
– Our Ukrainian Adoption: Bringing Zhenya Home with guest Marian Flodin on March 29 at The Reach.
All sessions are free. Visit thereach.ca or call 604-864-8087 (ext. 0) for more information or to register.
