SURREY — Surrey Libraries has flipped open a top-10 list of adult fiction books borrowed most often from its branches in 2016.
Paula Hawkins’ “The Girl on the Train” tops the list, followed by a J.K. Rowling favourite.
“The list was based upon a query to the statistics tables on our circulation database,” explained Jim Walsh, Manager of Information Technology for Surrey Libraries.
“We reported the annual circulation of all adult fiction titles with more than 30 checkouts this year and sorted the list in descending order of number of checkouts to find the top titles.
“The most-borrowed title, ‘The Girl on the Train,’ has been checked out 510 times so far in 2016. ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ is a very close second at 506 checkouts to date.”
