With a wide range of musical acts and as many types of food as one could find at a festival, the fourth instalment of Rock the Shores came off well.
With festival organizers taking care to provide water bottle fill-up stations and even a water spray tunnel to help keep the thousands of listeners cool in the heat – temperatures soared upwards of 30 C on the Saturday, while a light breeze cooled things down Sunday – the event came off mostly without a hitch.
There were a dozen or so arrests over the weekend, marijuana was seized from more than 50 concert-goers, according to West Shore RCMP, but for the most part people were well-behaved. St. John Ambulance crews were kept reasonably busy, with more than 150 people attended to for various ailments, including heat exhaustion.
