Romantic evening with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra

Romantic and comical arias, carefree polkas and swirling waltzes are sure to sweep you away

The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra brings the greatest hits of the golden era of Viennese operetta, waltzes and polkas to the stage this month with Romance in Vienna.

“The golden era of Vienna is brought to life in its popular music, and this concert brings this magic to life,” said Rosemary Thomson, music director of the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra. “We are excited to welcome back four alumni from UBC’s Opera Ensemble to share our stage.”

Romance in Vienna will feature music of Johann Strauss Jr. and Sr., Lehar, Von Suppe and more. The romantic and comical arias, carefree polkas and swirling waltzes are sure to sweep you away with their romantic grace.

Joining the OSO on stage will be sopranos Chelsea Rus and Taylor Pardell, tenor Martin Sadd and baritone Aaron Durand, performing together to create a magical experience.

From Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna, through Thunder and Lighting, The Beautiful Blue Danube, and the Land of Smiles, this program will enchant and dazzle.

The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra is the third largest professional Symphony Orchestra in B.C., entertaining residents of the Okanagan Valley and visitors from around the globe with symphonic music since 1960.
