They’re still spreading the luck o’ the Irish with their upcoming television special, newly released album, and 2011 Home in Ireland tour. The Irish Rovers, one of the world’s most popular and beloved Celtic groups, will be at the Cultural Centre Saturday October 1 with an arsenal of favourites, toe-tapping originals, and rollicking fresh tunes.

The Rovers’ concert concludes the all-day event, Cultural Collaboration-Anniversary Celebration, a community open house coordinated by the partners of the Cultural Centre and celebrating the centre’s first anniversary.

It has been a magical journey from their first to their 2010 release, Gracehill Fair, which has had high praise from Celtic radio announcers from Belfast to Maui. Throughout the years, these international ambassadors of Irish music have maintained their timeless ability to deliver a rousing performance of good cheer – one that will soon have you singing and clapping along.

While fresh tunes are sure to debut October 1, the “oldies” will also be in full colour, many of these anthems among generations of fans.  Award-winning numbers will fire up the party, including the The Unicorn, Chattanoogie Shoe Shine Boy, Drunken Sailor, The Wild Rovers, Years May Come, Years May Go, and Wasn’t That A Party.

The Rovers are passionate about performing to their legions of fans, making them “one of the most successful and enduring of all Irish folk bands,” declared by BBC Radio.

Start the merrymaking Friday, Sept. 30 at the Duke of Dublin Restaurant & Bar where true Irish spirit will run wild. Featuring live music by Paul Evenden and Jennie Bice, a menu special with Irish beer, plus exclusive ticket giveaways for the main event the following night. This “Warm-Up to the Irish Rovers” takes place from 7-11 p.m.

This is your opportunity to hear this Juno award-winning group perform their hits, live at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. For ticket information, call the Centre Box Office at 604.391.SHOW(7469) or visit Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets are also available online at www.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca
