SALMON ARM –– She last rocked the Roots and Blues main stage in 2009 and now Serena Ryder is coming back for this summer’s 20th anniversary celebration of the B.C. Interior’s biggest music festival.

Ryder has logged some serious tour miles going across Canada multiple times, as well as the U.S. (including Bonnarroo, Lollapalooza, South by Southwest and Denver’s Mile High Music Festival), Australia and Europe.

She has earned two Canadian gold records, three Juno awards (2008 New Artist of the Year, 2009 Adult Alternative Album of the Year, 2010 Video of the Year), a #1 holiday single for Calling To Say, and has been part of Bravo! TV’s highfalutin Live at the Rehearsal Hall series.

The Ontario-born singer-songwriter, who has a five-octave singing range, has produced  four albums — Falling Out (1999), Unlikely Emergency (2005), If Your Memory Serves You Well (2006) and Is It O.K. (2008).

She is currently working on a new record expected for release later this year.

Roots and Blues, taking place Aug. 17 to 19 at the Salmon Arm Fairgrounds, has also announced  The Trews, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Alex Cuba, The Beaton Sisters, Cuff the Duke, Declan O’Donovan, Delhi 2 Dublin, Five Alarm Funk, Coco Montoya, Shred Kelly, and many others to its lineup of performers this year.
