SAGA Public Art Gallery in Salmon Arm presents Slow Movement: A Cultural Reversal, an exhibition of works by Winnipeg artist and teacher Ingrid McMillan.
The 12 large-scale paintings are about slowing down to preserve the natural pace of humanity.
McMillan has watched her students reject “accelerated” values and opt for relationships over achievements; refinement over material things.
These paintings show her students enjoying more thought-provoking activities.
The show opens with a reception Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m, runs until Saturday, April 23.
Gallery officials invite visitors to enjoy some pleasant slowing-down activities during this exhibition; chess, puzzles and perhaps a game of cards.
Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Family Saturdays take place every Saturday at 2 p.m.
