Valdy and Gary Fjellgaard will be performing on Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lakes District Secondary School (LDSS) multi purpose room.

You won’t want to miss the visual artist exhibiting his exciting works at this performance: Leonard Matte, a welcome newcomer to our community.

If you’ve seen our season brochure, you know that one lucky audience member at the Pavlo show on Oct. 23 will win an acoustic guitar valued at $700.

Pavlo will also be performing on the Southside on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Grassy Plains Hall. Watch for news coming soon about this special event, sponsored by the Grassy Plains Hall Committee, the Lakes District Arts Council and Rio Tinto Alcan.

The Beacon Theatre recently announced a commitment to provide the Lakes District with access to the best entertainment the industry has to offer, including Broadway shows delivered via the theatre’s state of the art digital projector and satellite system.

The Burns Lake Public Library is excited to be able to offer an evening with two Canadian authors, Charlotte Gill, author of ‘Eating Dirt’ and Andrew Nikiforuk, author of ‘Empire of the Beetle’.

They will be at the Burns Lake Public Library on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., downstairs in the library meeting room.

It is essentially a double bill addressing the many facets of forest renewal.

The authors will be travelling together, to provide a unique and layered discussion of the forestry industry, the forests in B.C. and communities such as Burns Lake that are affected.

There is no charge for this event.
