So, you want to publish a book or even a long short story? Well, the old way was to get it published traditionally. While that method still exists, the competition is fierce and you have to jump through a lot of hoops. It also means waiting and waiting before your book is available to the public.
In the last seven years or so, self-publishing has exploded. It’s now easier than ever to get your book published.
Diana Stevan has self-published two novels, A Cry From The Deep and The Rubber Fence, and a novelette, The Blue Nightgown. She’ll share the tips she learned getting her books published, and the pros and cons of self-publishing at an “all writers welcome” event Oct. 8 at the Campbell River branch of the Vancouver Island Public Library.
She’ll discuss why she chose this route — a route also chosen by some notable authors such as Jane Austen, Walt Whitman, Marcel Proust, John Grisham and Tom Clancy. Questions will follow.
Diana will also be available to sign her novels, which will be for sale at the event.
