Sept. 21 – Local artist Linda Phelps has her show, Classic to Modern, on display at the Chilliwack Museum from Sept. 21 to Nov. 7. Her artwork includes pieces in porcelain, oil, watercolour, and jewellery. Opening reception is today (Sept. 21) from noon to 2 p.m.
Sept. 21 – The Chilliwack Spinners and Weavers Guild will be hosting their annual Spin-In today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the community room at Rosedale Traditional Community School. More than 70 women from around the province will be gathered to spend the day spinning yarn and displaying their creations. Several vendors offering products related to spinning and weaving will be on hand during the day.

Now to Oct. 2 – The Eco Market runs every Wednesday evening (4 to 8 p.m.) at Sardis Park from now to Oct. 2. The market features local artists, live music, fresh food and more. The market’s juried artisans offer works in a variety of media including glass, textiles and fibre arts, wood, ceramics, jewelry, painting, drawing, photography, basketry, recycled and mixed media and metalwork. All work is handmade by the artist who is on site.
Now to Oct. 26 – Earthscapes features work by two artists and is on display in the Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre Sept. 12 to Oct. 26. Debbie Weismiller is an abstract artist who is captivated by colour with all of its intensity, shades of warmth and coolness and of texture. Patricia Tessier works are photographs of floral studies and natural abstracts. Gallery hours are Wednesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
