Oct. 25/26/27/31 – Head up to Promontory to check out Jeannie’s Haunted House at 5379 Westwood Dr. The attraction includes a cemetery, mad science lab, zombie mermaids, a pirate ship, monsters, wolves, a circus of horrors, and a surprise ending that will scare all. Hours: Oct. 25 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Oct. 26 from 7 to 10 p.m., Oct. 27 and Halloween from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. They are also collecting donations of money and canned pet food for the Chilliwack SPCA. Oct. 25 – The Friends of the Chilliwack Library presents its 10th annual Quiz Night at the Chilliwack Library at 7 p.m. Come by yourself or as a team of up to eight people. There are also door prizes and gift basket raffles. Tickets $13 and available at the library. 604-792-1941.
Oct. 26 – Stó:lō Nation Presents Fall Comedy Night at 8 p.m. at Squiala Community Centre (45005 Squiala Rd.). Tickets $25 and includes appetizers and access to door prizes. Oct. 31 to Dec. 14 – The Golden Palette Art Club presents its show Potpourri: The Spice of Life at the Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre from Oct. 31 to Dec. 14. Opening reception is Saturday, Nov. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays.
Now to Oct. 26 – Earthscapes features work by two artists and is on display in the Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre Sept. 12 to Oct. 26. Debbie Weismiller is an abstract artist who is captivated by colour with all of its intensity, shades of warmth and coolness and of texture. Patricia Tessier works are photographs of floral studies and natural abstracts. Gallery hours are Wednesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
Now to Nov. 7 – Local artist Linda Phelps has her show, Classic to Modern, on display at the Chilliwack Museum from Sept. 21 to Nov. 7. Her artwork includes pieces in porcelain, oil, watercolour, and jewellery.
Now to 26 – The Chilliwack Players Guild presents The Importance of Being Earnest at the Cultural Centre.
