May 1 to Oct. 2 – The Eco Market runs every Wednesday evening (4 to 8 p.m.) at Sardis Park from now to Oct. 2. The market features local artists, live music, fresh food and more. The market’s juried artisans offer works in a variety of media including glass, textiles and fibre arts, wood, ceramics, jewelry, painting, drawing, photography, basketry, recycled and mixed media and metalwork. All work is handmade by the artist who is on site.
June 6 to July 20 – The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents Abstract in Action by Nasser Ghaderi from June 6 to July 20 in the Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre. Gallery hours are Wednesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
June 7 – Chilliwack band, The Nighthawks, will be performing at Duke’s Pub to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Society. The event includes a roast beef buffet, draw, and live rockin’ music from 7 p.m. to closing. Tickets $10 and available at the door.
June 7/8 – The Woody James Band is performing live at The Anavets (305-46268 Yale Rd.) from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. tonight playing classic rock plus songs off their four CDs.
June 7-9 – Underneath the Lintel: The Mystery of the Abandoned Trousers will run for three performances at the UFV Theatre in the Chilliwack north campus (Yale Road) on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday June 9 at 2 p.m. Tickets $15 at the door or online at www.kingbaby.com.

June 8 – The second annual Cultus Lake Day takes place today. Enjoy a pancake breakfast (9 to 11 a.m. at the fire hall), parade, music, entertainment, and dancing. The dance, featuring live music by Spirit Cool, will be held in the Cultus Lake Community Hall. Cost: pancake breakfast $5/adults, $3/children under 12; evening dance and pizza $15. June 8/9 – The annual Ryder Lake Ramble is this weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Visit a dozen different privately-owned locations for various attractions such as llamas and alpacas, rock gardens, draft horses, flowers, art studios, pottery, wood carvings and more. June 10 to Aug. 10 – The eighth annual Friends of the Chilliwack Library Photo Contest runs June 10 to Aug. 10. Photos must have been taken in the Fraser Valley between September 2012 and August 2013. Amateur photographers from Chilliwack, Sardis, Yarrow and Agassiz can enter.
