May 29 to July 21 – Art exhibition, Layers: Five Faces of Collage, opens today at The Art Room (20-5725 Vedder Rd.) and continues until July 21. The show features the works of Christine Newsome, Janet Carroll, Vicky Ray, Dianne Hultgren and Betty Meiszner who used a variety of mixed media of paints, pastels, inks, papers and found materials to create their collage art. Opening reception is tonight (May 29) from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

May 30 – The Chilliwack Youth Orchestra, featuring young musicians performing Bach, Haydn, Schubert and more, performs at 7:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Reformed Church (9800 McNaught Rd.). Tickets $10/students and seniors, $15/adults and available at King’s Music or at the door (cash only).
May 31 – Everyone can sing, but not everyone can sing well. If you want to be a better singer, sing up for Spiderlodge Studio’s Everyone Can Sing seminar from 6 to 7 p.m. The group seminar will be followed up by one hour of one-on-one vocal coaching with Lori Paul in studio, on a June date of your choosing. You will learn to increase your volume and vocal range, find keys that suit your range in each song you sing, correct pitch drift and other common problems, improve the quality of your vocal tone, apply breath support for dynamic sound, gain confidence and enjoy performing.
